Context
Mack and Sarah of Silversage Homestead asked me to design and create a logo and website that they could use to promote the products they sell from their homestead. They wanted a simple professional look with a touch of rustic farm style. The logo would be used on their website, social media platforms, and possibly on future product labeling.
The Design Process
Research
I began the research process by asking Mack and Sarah to send me images that would give me an idea of their vision. I received silhouette images of barns and sage plants. We also discussed what kind of stylizing they would like to see and they decided on rustic farm style, but still clean and professional.
Sketching
I always like to begin my logo designs with some good sketches. Once I have a few sketches with strong potential, I begin to turn my favorites into vectors using Adobe Illustrator.

Drafting and Refining
I selected a few candidates and sent the to the client to get feedback and narrow down the direction they’d like the design to go. I asked them which drafts were their favorites and what they liked about them or didn’t like about them. In this case, we wanted to try a different font.

I refined the favorite design ideas in another round of drafts this time I also added color and sizes so that the client could have a clear idea of how the logo would look in any circumstance.

Final Design
Finally, Mack and Sarah selected their favorite logo. I made a few more small changes and it looks fantastic in color or in back and white and in any size. They are so happy with it!
